The Role
We are looking for a Data Developer with proven data integration skills to develop and support Integration, Development, ETL, Data Warehouse and Reporting solutions delivered by a dedicated Big Data teams.

The successful candidate will have good technical and problem solving skills, with a positive and results driven attitude, a strong communicator who is capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical people.

The technology stack of our client is last-generation. Dual data center setup + Amazon Cloud. This role is perfect opportunity for someone with interest in big data and the cloud.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

• Work as an effective member of a scrum team – understanding and contributing to the agile delivery process, and taking ownership for your team’s software quality from concept to production
• To promote the production of reusable code and modules where appropriate with a view to maximising effort and reducing development costs applying principles of Agile delivery.
• To ensure risks and issues are identified in a timely manner and effectively communicated with proposed resolution and mitigation strategies to the Data Delivery Manager.
• Work as an effective member of a scrum team – understanding and contributing to the agile delivery process, and taking ownership for your team’s software quality from concept to production
• Write and maintain functional and technical specifications
• Monitor, optimize and trouble shoot database performance
• Analyse code for problem resolution
• Thorough, demonstrable unit testing

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential
• Proven development skills in one of the following
– SQL data development with MS SQL or Oracle (at least 3 years, ideally 5+ years)
– Hadoop, Big Data, and open source NoSQL technologies (e.g. MongoDB, CouchDB, ElasticSearch).
– ETL with tools like Talend or similar

• Dimensional data modelling
• Experience on database performance analysis and design
• Unit testing knowledge
• Demonstrable experience with high-volume data loads (terra bytes and above)
• Knowledge of ETL from highly transactional (1000s records/second) OLTP systems
• Exposure to Continuous Delivery / Continuous Integration tools (e.g. Go, Jenkins)
• A proven ability to influence technical decisions in a fast moving commercial environment
• Demonstrates exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and consistent high energy levels

Desirable:
• Experience in Real-time Data Integration using tools such as Spark or Kafka
• Experience in the cloud, prefferably AWS stack
• Experience of large data warehouse (10 TB+) with multiple sources and outputs
• Experience with Amazon Redshift
• Agile experience
• Knowledge of the online gaming/gambling industry
• Educated to degree level in a science or technology related field

You will have the autonomy, within defined guard rails, to select the tools and technologies you need to build and operate services responsible for FT brand critical capabilities. The Role

The Scrum Master is responsible for enabling agile teams to successfully deliver projects within the Agile Life Cycle, from concept to cash. This individual will have a strong track record of guiding and motivating Scrum teams in fast paced organizations where time to market, quality and managing emergent change well are critical to the company’s success. The Scrum Master will also be capable of coaching the Scrum Team on the Scrum methodology, agile principles and behaviours if required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates effective Scrum events according to Scrum methodology & best practice guidelines;
  • Facilitates an effective application of Kanban according to Scrum methodology & best practice guidelines
  • Facilitates the removal of impediments to the team’s progress;
  • Protects the team from interruptions and interferences;
  • Works with other Scrum/Kanban teams;
  • Works with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum/Kanban in the organization;
  • Helps the team to become self-organizing;
  • Encourages team members to remove process bottlenecks by taking in tasks outside their main field of expertise;
  • Motivates the team;
  • Has the responsibility for facilitating process improvement;
  • Facilitates ramp-up meetings; Makes sure a common way of working is agreed;
  • Follows the company and cliemnt’s ways of working; Works with the Delivery Managers and Product Owners to prevent any hidden work;
  • Keeps the team’s focus on the top projects, making sure the resource model is followed;
  • Removes any impediments raised by the team related with getting access to the appropriate tools and environments;
  • Responsible for organising Post Incident Review meetings;
  • Makes sure the Change process is followed; Responsible for release planning and tracking;
  • Responsible for aligning all the Scrum teams involved in the release (when the team owns the release/component);
  • Promotes excellent team communication by facilitating discussion, decision making and conflict resolution;
  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders based on mutual respect, openness and transparency;
  • Tracks and reports sprint and release progress (tracks and reports KPIs) and makes sure the KPIs are according to the guidelines;
  • Responsible for tracking internal and external dependencies (incl. 3rd Party);
  • Works together with the team/Delivery Managers / PO/PM/Commercial leads to track delivery risks and issues and implement mitigation plans;
  • Guides the team on how to use Agile and Scrum practices, values and tools.

  • Has knowledge and experience of Scrum methodology, best practices and tools;
  • Formal qualification in one of the following: Agile (Scrum, Kanban, LEAN), PMI, Prince2, etc. is considered a plus;
  • Experience: 3+ years (guideline only)
