The Role

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a front end engineer to join a very dynamic environment and be part of an emerging team, working on the main product for a London-based startup.

 

As a front end engineer you will have the chance to be one of the first people on board and position yourself as a technological leader in your area while working on and delivering production ready software, the main product of the company.

Until now we have relied on physical models and CGIs to help visualise the future. Now, VU.CITY has created the largest, most accurate truly interactive digital city model, continuously updated to provide a revolutionary tool for architects, developers, advisors and the public sector.

Our company has developed a pioneering software platform that is changing how planning across the UK is conducted. With over 50% of the London Boroughs using the platform in addition to industry-leading Architects, Developers & Planners, there has never been a more exciting time to join a growing start-up and to be part of our shared adventure.

 

Experience & Qualifications Required

 

Essential:

  • 3+ years experience in React, Redux and Strype
  • Extensive development experience in JavaScript
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience in using RESTful APIs
  • Experience in building SPA applications
  • Good spoken English
  • Excellent ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with AWS Cloud
  • Experience working with / integrating Mapbox (https://www.mapbox.com/)
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with Bash and Linux

This is an exciting opportunity for an UX Designer to join a very dynamic environment and be part of an emerging team, working on the main product for a London-based startup.

 

As an UX Designer you will help the company revisit the currently built Web UI to follow user behaviour and more common workflows around how an user works.

  • Strong portfolio of design projects
  • Background in user research
  • Familiarly with interaction design and information architecture
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Analytical mind with a business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good spoken English

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS;

 

Responsibilities:

  • Understand product specifications and user psychology
  • Create personas through user research and data
  • Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success
  • Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability)
  • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends
